JBLM Soldier Guide Workshop 2/14/2020

I've been to Summit twice and I've been never better. My life has changed vastly. My love for God and people has increased and I have never been better.
___
For my second time being here it was even better than the first. Instead of being the student I was a teacher and to see how I could help others open up was amazing. I'm very excited to see the future of Summit, and I hope people who are struggling will find their way here.
___
Very good experience. It continues to improve my ability to help others.
___
The training is excellent. I feel like the training brings everyone closer and gives them the skills to communicate effectively with a concern or understanding of a situation to support others when in need.
___
The location created a beautiful environment to relax and focus on myself. I totally decompressed myself and felt the need to go back and know my Soldiers. I can say I now know the people in my group more than before. Creating a community of great listeners is an effort, but it does come with a huge impact in one’s life. I do want not only to listen to someone going through hard times, but also help them overcome if by just being someone they can lean on. We learn from our experience and our stories build trust with others. I am very happy I had an opportunity to be here. Thank you all.
___
Attending the Summit retreat allowed me to connect with other soldiers across JBLM without worrying about crossing what would otherwise be considered boundaries while in formation. Allowed me to be vulnerable and connect with enlisted men in my unit. Made me critically think about my faith and challenge my beliefs and what I was comfortable with.
___
I learned to be vulnerable. I'm still in the process of figuring it out.
___
Letting people in and talking about a burden that has made me feel more confident and prouder to be who I am. I got more clarity of how God talks to me.
___
Everyone hurts. Everyone heals. To grow with support all around us will only drive us to be stronger.
___
I love this. I don't talk to anyone in my company and they definitely don't know me. I've never felt so comfortable and safe to share my background with others without being judged.
___
My faith is still in the works. But the training has instilled confidence in myself and my desire to help others.
___
Thank you for your time and service. I would love to lead next time.
___
I feel that this training was some of the most real and life changing training in my military service.
___
This training was amazing. It showed me how to relate to others that are struggling in ways that I had never thought of. It was also very eye opening for me and opening up and sharing my story made me realize things about myself that I have struggled with for years.
___
Didn't really know what to expect coming but it was definitely worth it. It was so amazing to get away from life and spend some time with God and God's people. There was not one exercise that I did not thoroughly enjoy and learn something about myself and someone else. I can't wait to come back and do it again.
___
Gained a lot of information about myself and I am sure others felt the same way too. We all took a gamble when we decided to open up and share our stories to others.
___
Overall great experience and thank you for giving me the opportunity to open up and grow.
___
The biggest insight I gained during this training is that even the most reticent / reserved people are able to share their story when they're supported by strong people and encouraged / supported by faith in God.
___
The event was intense and challenging, but it opened doors I thought were long closed and gave me more purpose. I got to know everyone in such a deep and meaningful way and it inspired me to grow deeper in my faith and it gave me a desire and calling to reach out to others and share what I've learned as well as be the friend / mentor and help others grow.
___
It was amazing to share my story and hear the stories of others. I know so much more about others I thought I knew already.
___
The training provides such an awesome tool to appreciate others' stories. I think it’s a great way to reflect and love on other people’s stories. Guidelines really taught me to be more thoughtful!
___
I thought this was extremely powerful, peace giving and liberating. This experience helped me build an unforgettable bond and trust that I've never thought was possible. I believe this will take me to the next level in every area of my life. This event / training is necessary.
___
I am extremely grateful I was able to attend the event. Learning how my story can positively influence others is a blessing. I feel I have gained a deeper relationship with God. Thankful for all you have shared with me.
