Reach Church Online My Story Workshop 3/13/2021

Every time I do this, it is a powerful reminder of my brokenness but also how amazing God and his grace is.

Only Jesus has the power to save us from our sins, we can never do it alone. I’ve known this truth but it became more real to me and I more fully understood and believed it. He truly makes us free and removes our transgressions as far as the east is from the west. I have been feeding myself lies and have been able to better identify what those are. The story I have been given is valuable and can be used to advance God’s Kingdom. Many people have hard stories and a lot of the time we would never know. Makes me wonder how I can love people more. If Jesus is our agenda the person across the table is a target. If Jesus is our life, then the person with us is our friend. Jason and Chris, thank you!! I didn’t know what I was going into and I was amazed by how God worked through this training. Thank you for making a comfortable environment to get a little uncomfortable. Thank you for leading the way! I loved the training and am very grateful for getting the opportunity to join in.

It was a very empowering and encouraging experience. I have always felt overwhelmed when attempting to share my story with others. This training gave me a structure to use when telling my story and it gave me amazing tools for effectively and compassionately responding to the stories of others.

The look back on early life - considering the time of innocence and where brokenness started - was so incredibly helpful to uncovering how the enemy has threaded lies throughout my life, and bringing that out into the light has brought freedom!
___
Of course, brokenness entered my life at a young age, but until this week I wrote it off because it's "nothing" compared to so many other people's stories. As I scribbled on post-it notes today and clustered different parts of my story into categories, my eyes and heart were opened to redemptive themes I was previously unaware of. I got to ask what innocence looked like for me, how darkness stole that, and how Jesus is inviting me into restoration in those specific areas.
