JBLM Soldier Guide Workshop  6/18/2021

After sharing my story, I feel a weight lifted from my heart. Also, learning how to respond to one another is an extremely helpful tool to know. Building a strong community has helped me so much in my life.
___
At first, I did not know where the men at my table were. I was very encouraged after hearing their stories. Some of them were not too detailed because of the difficulties of never sharing anything like that before. It will take more time together. Everyone was very gracious to each other. We are well on our way!
___
Summit is an amazing training initiative and I couldn't recommend it any higher.
___
I've done this 4 times and each time I get something different out of this!
___
I have gained confidence in people and in God. I had a great time and can't wait until next time.
___
I felt like sharing my story made me connect with my group because we all could relate to each other and therefore we have a stronger bond now.
___
I've learned that after getting to know everyone, I've come to realize that we have a lot of common things and that they've approached it differently. Joining the group, I learned a few steps of responding to someone else’s back story and how to properly talk to them.
___
Summit has been the most meaningful thing I've done since joining the Army (I've been in the Army almost 3 years). In sharing my story, I felt like I made connections to things I never realized before saying it out loud to someone else.
___
I learned that I'm a Soldier to reach Soldiers and how to respond to people sharing their life story. I was able to be honest with who I was for the first time in  memory. I was able to start to unpack some things.
___
I think Summit is a great initiative. I felt that I was able to open up to my unit and I was also able to see my life eye to eye with other participants.
