Sunrise Church My Story Training 8/28/2021
Very intense and personal but very meaningful process to go through. The instructor is very effective at connecting, engaging, telling his story and connecting his story to God's story!! Super encouraging time together with our team. So very thankful for this time!

The training was a roller coaster battling obstacles, fear, and emotions. The course was well facilitated and the process was effective. Though it isn't easy diving into past hurts in front of others. God knows what we need and this weekend was it.

Thank you for your time this past weekend in taking our elders through a weekend of reflection and renewed sense of God’s heartbeat in and for them. I hope that the tracks have been laid for deeper intimacy among the members of the team and that will be well-modeled for the rest of our congregation as we shepherd them.

The weekend was a great reflection for me on how God has been at work in my life, and He is still writing my story as I prepare to enter the next phase of this journey called retirement. As I was sharing these things with my wife, along with the theme of the weekend, she began pondering her own story. At the same time our future daughter-in-law was struggling with some challenges in her own life. My wife felt compelled to write out her story and share it. In doing so she was able to see how God could use her story to help others. It was no doubt “perfect timing” to see how God used this weekend, not only to minister to me, but to use it in my wife and daughter-in-law’s life too.

I connected with some parts of my story that I haven't reflected on in years, if at all. It was helpful to partake in this reflection which I am confident I will continue to purse out in the future. Some of the things others shared touched squarely on struggles I've been experiencing so I'm immensely grateful for the tangible expression of appreciation.
