Soldier Guide Workshop – Ft Wainwright 11/19/2025

Brotherhood. I learned to trust myself to open up when I need to. Don’t give up and stay strong with your head up.
___
I feel I have grown slightly in the last two days with talking and meeting new people and realize I’ve done better in life than I thought.
___
I feel more comfortable sharing my story after this event and it feels like a lot of weight and pressure was taken off me after opening up with someone.
___
I feel that this is what the soldiers need to open up their story and feel heard and communicate with other soldiers.
___
I gained insight into how easy it can be to just talk with others, and how powerful giving someone the ability to share their story can be.
___
I learned that God is always helping us to grow whether it’s something active or something passive, we can’t always heal on our own and God is there waiting for us to accept him into our lives. I learned why I act the way I do because of my story and past and what I can do to heal some of those things.
___
I pray that commanders and senior NCO’s push younger soldiers who are in their first or second year in the Army to come to events like this. I learned that God is intertwined in your life even if you don’t understand. I learned that I’m not as fully “fixed” as I thought but still have issues that still need to be resolved, but I am not the only one so I am not alone. This is what this event has shown me. And this will allow me to help listen to others who open up and how to respond. I also now have people who I can come to in dark times, and people who I will understand more especially when certain quirks start to show.
___
I think it was a very good event, very well facilitated, I feel closer with the members of my platoon who were here and people across the entire 1-24 battalion. If possible, I will be attending the next event, I feel I still have a lot to give and help others with.
___
Made me closer with those I work with, and trust them more. Gave me a way to connect with others and learn their stories in a safe and constructive way.
___
Realizing the pain and suffering from people you wouldn’t have expected to have been through was eye opening and will make me look at others in a different light with more acceptance of why they are the way they are and considerate of what they could have been through.
