Soldier Guide Workshop, Gyeong-ju, South Korea 12/5/2025

Great job organizing this event.
___
Even as a Christian I still have much to learn and experience. I have learned so much from this event that I can practice day and night. I’m glad I had this opportunity that I have been longing to be part of and this was that chance to chase after it.
___
God loves me. He always has a plan for me and my family.
___
During this Summit training, I gained several personal insights that will influence both my connection with God and my character moving forward. One of the strongest lessons I learned is the importance of humility and openness, recognizing that growth often comes from stepping outside my comfort zone and allowing myself to be challenged. This experience reminded me that development doesn’t always feel comfortable, but it is always valuable.
___
I believe so much in this workshop as well in how to be more connected to the Lord. To be able to connect with others and share your experience and see how others can relate to it. Thank you for all you do for us and the Soldiers. I truly believe.
___
I learned that God gives us experience to share and changes habits and our heart in life. I learned that I can share my journey with others. I think this will help me be more sufficient with connecting with people.
___
Really felt the Holy Spirit moving and could see Jesus in the instructors.
___
For me this experience wasn’t one of learning but more for me to get back on track with God. I had a deep conversation with the Pastor and afterwards I felt more hopeful and confident in getting back on track with my spiritual training it was nice to talk to a mentor who had previously been through what I had gone through so I am truly grateful for this experience ⭐️💫✨🇺🇸
___
I learned how gracious God is. I learned that although He doesn’t directly speak with us, He is always with us and shows us with actions from others. I want to start living life like I only have 1 week left and truly cherish the time I have with loved ones. It showed me how complete strangers have so much love for me and I should reciprocate that feeling.
___
I have been struggling with me faith since I came to Korea. I grew up in the Christian Church, my grandfather is a Pastor, so going to church was never really an option. Since I’ve been here, I haven’t really been going and a feel ashamed and kind of weak. This has given me a push to go to someone and talk about to further to see what I can do to strengthen my faith. Well, I hope because sometimes I just say stuff but I hope that I do what needs to be done and why I’m feeling this way.
___
My condition was bad so I couldn't participate much in this activity. But the Korean ladies were caring about me so much. Every time they saw me, they would ask me if I was feeling any better. By that, I felt the love of God.
___
I personally loved this whole thing. The Korean Summit family is the sweetest. They really reminds me of my grandma. And everyone has treated us with the most southern hospitality and it’s been a long time since I’ve been surrounded by southern hospitality. I genuinely loved this. I feel like just in the past few days I have gotten closer to God. Before I showed up, I was questioning if I wanted to cancel my slot and I’m so glad that I didn’t. As someone who has struggled with sin and self-control greatly and believes in God but doesn’t know how much I believe in God. This has changed the way I see God and Korea.
___
I will probably have questions always in life but what I took from this is that not everyone will understand you but for you to understand yourself because not everyone's story is written the same.
I am glad I came to this Summit. I was able to get a lot of stress off my chest. It feels like a weight has been lifted. I am greatly thankful.
___
It was helpful to see Soldiers encouraged to experience healthy shared vulnerability. I would encourage you to receive extra info from Chaplains on the demographics of Soldiers attending the event. Many Soldiers are de-churched and others have no religious preference. There are specific ways to speak to these groups with different demographics and that extra info might help inform the teaching.
