CHAPTER 2 | Brokenness

The next video entitled Brokenness Stories are stories from a few people of moments in their lives where they have experienced hurt from others or caused hurt in others.

Now that you’ve heard God’s story of Brokenness, take some time to think back on your life and remember your own stories. You can find questions and a space to write on Pages 18 - 20 in the participant guide. Here are some questions that may help you remember some of your stories.

o  How did brokenness enter your story?

o  Was there a specific time or even where innocence was lost?

o  What memories or events shaped you to be different than you would have been otherwise?

o  Who are some of the people who have had the greatest impact on you, both for good and for bad?

o  What moments of great hardship / suffering have you faced?

o  What are the lies you believed as a result of your experience?

The truth is that we all have brokenness in our lives. Brokenness happens to us, and goes through us to others. It’s the human condition. We don’t want to minimize your experience, but we do want to normalize the fact that we have all experienced hurt from others and have caused hurt in others.

When you’re ready, move to the next section entitled Identity to hear some of what God says is true about you if your trust is in Him.
